Road trippin…Stopped in Idaho somewhere. I caught Chris cruising around the desolate parking lot waiting for us to hurry up in Albertsons. This is by far the best mode of transportation.

After a five-day road trip (that should have only taken one day), I’m almost to my final destination! We stopped for a few days in Salt Lake City to visit some friends who are now living in the LDS state for snowboarding and school purposes. Then yesterday we trekked a long trek through the desert of Utah and Nevada (and a tiny corner of Arizona) to make it to Barstow, CA. We’ll be in Encinitas in a few hours. On the beach, and on to a new adventure in my life.

It was 4am on Thursday morning. We had just left a casino/gas station appropriately dubbed The Panther. The Panther was on the northern boarder of Montana, 10 hours away from our final destination: Revelstoke, B.C.  The clerk was training a new employee who happened to be her ex-husband. He had just moved back into her trailer and she was worried about the emotional state of their two children. They bickered and told me and Ben antidotal stories of their tumultuous relationship, making the check-out process linger on. I had only been awake for a few minutes when we decided to pull into the truck stop. I awoke to Ben’s claim that he’d seen the same sign for the third time in a row. In my 4am haze and daze, I temporarily thought we were lost. The sign had only described the name of the river we were following: Clark Fork…
